Angelo Romano

Angelo Romano (1982) is an eclectic musician who rejects the very idea of labels. His style as a singer/songwriter ranges between some sort of alternative rock/punk and folk/blues, all of this performed in a semi-acoustic way interfered by cello, synth, kazoo, pedal effects and a loud Sicilian voice. Currently based in Barcelona, his original songs (in English and Sicilian language) cover mostly short stories and introspective subjects. "The Last Pacifist" (2015), recorded in Utrecht (NL), is a manifesto of passion, anger and desire to propagate his message of peace for a world without barriers - of any kind. A new album, "Southern Lights", recorded in Barcelona together with a music ensemble, was released in 2017. The new album, a switch from previous works due to the prominent presence of cello and violin almost entirely replacing electric atmospheres, also features five songs in Sicilian language and was followed by a string of four European live performances in a duo formation.
