Heyos

Heyos, on his real name Cristian Vulpe, is an artist based in Bucharest, Romania. His relationship with music starts even before he was born, thanks to his family’s passion and frequent engaging in music related activities. His journey in the musical realms begins on his first day he arrived in this world and continues to the day he will leave it. We think he is a mature artist with a vast knowledge of musical genres and artists, going back to the 40’s and coming back to our days, he says he explored an lived the stories that are imprinted in every song that he placed his ear and heart on. He likes listening to music with an open mind an heart and surrender himself to the feelings that every song has to offer, as well as assimilating the story and the mindset of each one. By the music he plays and produces we can see and feel his unique style based on merging of deep house as a base, techno rhythms, house grooves, minimal touches, progressive house flow, atmospherical moods, psychedelic sounds, a tasteful distortion from time to time( for the benefit of human ear and the sanity of the mind - he jokes ), even balearic trance melodic lines and vast variety of influences from well known artists and musical genres such as jazz, rock’n’roll, rhythm and blues, rock, pop, progressive rock, disco, hip-hop, funk, soul, broken beats, downtempo, trip-hop, oriental, afrobeat as genres and Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Queen, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode as artists, just to name a few. As regions of musical influence to him he stated that the whole world has touched him in some way. The cherry on top is his state of mind and spirit that he has towards music and the meaning of it in life which is contagious and he really loves this fact because he hopes that everyone gets touched by it as deeply as he was, still is and will be. One other thing present in his style is the connection of music with nature, a thing that is permanent, as his opinion states that music can be found everywhere if you have the patience and ear to listen. He states that he is in permanent development and change in his approach to music, so it is expected to hear something new added to his musical character step by step on his journey through life and in his storytelling songs and sets. He is a believer that from every encounter he has there is something to learn, be it an artist, a culture, a part of the world, even a natural phenomenon. He is thankful for each experience and to every person he met in his life.
