About Kamui

"PhoTone Musicproductions" consists of two
young guys from Stuttgart, south-west Germany.

Dominik Felsmann, born on June 12th 1987 in
Stuttgart, began his interest in music with
drumming, soon followed by playing the
guitar and piano at the age of 6.
Dominik soon enough discovered the genre of
electronic music with “Notator” on the
“Atari”, owned by his father and began to
produce his first tracks. Since then, he
expanded his studio equipment ten fold, so
it was only a question of time until the
quality of his tracks drastically improved.
In spring 2003 the Label “Drizzly Recordings”
showed interest in the song “Are You Ready”,
shortly afterwards he signed his first
contract at the age of 15 years.

Patrick Scheidt, born on May 23rd 1986 in
Stuttgart, took a path similar to Dominik’s.
He began to take Keyboard-lessons very early
in his childhood and it was his music teacher
who taught him the basic principles of
musical theory and music production.
After some time of saving money, Patrick
could afford a studio PC and his first
synthesizer. He improved his skills very
quickly and his songs soon became successful
on various Internet Music Sites.

Due to his success on those music portal
websites, he quickly made new contacts with
other prodcuers in the electronica scene.
One of which, was Dominik. In May 2003,
Patrick and Dominik decided to meet with
each other for the first time. The
chemistry between the two was perfect.
Both had the same goals in mind. Since then,
they have decided to work togehter
and became best friends.

The first common release - beside some
remixes - appeared in early 2004.
"Virus Inc. - The Virus" was a Hardtrance
track with a commercial flare. Soon enough,
it became a big favourite in GER/AUS/UK
and was also licensed to Yoji Biomehanika
for his "Future of Hard Dance 002" Complilation
Mix CD which was distributed in Japan.

Dominik and Patrick first recieved
international attention with their hit track
"Kamui - Ghosts" which was released on
"Overdose Records" (Dj Scot Project's
legendary homebase label along with other
Hardtrance pioneers just like Dj Wag,
Hypetraxx, Dj Sakin, Schwarze Puppen etc.).
The two were overwhelmed with the success of
the track when they found it playlisted by
many recognized DJs in the scene. Even to
this day, a year later the track is still
being featured on compilation CDs and big
events around the world such as "DefQon 1",
"Mystery Land", "Godskitchen at
Pharmacy Australia".

As the success of "Ghosts" was spreading in
2004, Patrick and Dominik also produced
"Synthflut - No Time to Sleep", soon after to
be signed by "Resistance Records UK", in
addition to the release they were requested
to produce remixes for "Dj Dean" and
"Yakooza (Dj Wag)" and further projects on
different labels.

With priorities in mind, school and final
exams were to be finished, which later
opened up a whole new world of
possibilites and more free time to
experiement with various styles of
electronic music.The experimentation led
to new songs ranging from progressive
trance, to hard edged tech trance.
This in turn played a big role on the
decreased number of releases from Dominik
and Patrick. But the two have sat down to
work on a more diverse sound which is more
than ready to be presented in 2006.

Along with the producing success,
in Summer 2005 Patrick and Dominik
entered the world of DJing that enabled
them to play various events and clubs
in Germany and the UK.

After having great support from
established DJs, "Kamui - Drop Shot" is
their follow up track to "Ghosts"
which got released in December 2005 on
the new label "Traffic Tunes", owned by
the ex-Overdose A&R and "Dj Wag",
whom also has featured "Still In Progress"
(one of their many new tracks) on the
upcoming DJ Wag Album "Global".

Furthermore, Patrick and Dominik are
pleased about their recent Record Contract
with "Dj Scot Project" and "Kan Cold"
("Derb/Hennes and Cold")label "Druck Records".
The two have since then produced a two-tracker
for Benjamin Reichert (a resident DJ of the
club "Proton" in Stuttgart).
March 2006 proved to be a successful
month with "Benjamin R. - Hybrid (Kamui Mix)/
Cold Passion!"Not to menchion the countless
playlists from many djs around the world.
