Samantha Crain

I seem to be adding new Oklahoma musicians to my collection! Just back from Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, I grabbed a ticket to see Samantha Crain who is closely connected to several Okie musicians that I've been following (John Moreland, John Fullbright, Ken Pomeroy). With a calm and soothing stage presence, and just the right amount of stories about song motivation, Samantha was a real treat for The Word Barn Meadow audience.

Drove 2 hours for 30 minutes of bliss watching her brilliance.

Samantha Crain is a phenomenal artist and performer.

Would have liked to heard "Dragonfly & Ridin out the Storm" but still an excellent performance

What a delightful evening. First time at 20 Front Street, which is a warm and intimate venue. The opening act, Kalyn Fay was a pleasant surprise. It is great to find that an opening act is one that you would see if they came back for their own show, and that was the case with Kalyn. Funny, beautiful voice, and amazing songs. Samantha Crain just blew me away with her powerful vocals. She embodied her songs with her dancing and looking like she was going inside herself to summon these musical treasures. She and her band had a delightful chemistry. If you get the chance to see Samantha Crain, don't hesitate. She is a treasure.

Nice smaller venue that was perfect for Crain, providing intimacy that wouldn’t have been achieved in a larger setting. And of course Crain was wonderful!

Terrific show! Samantha Crain was phantastic. Elsdeer was great as well. And the club is really nice. With a smoker’s lounge! Can’t recommend it enough.

I had never even heard of Samantha until 3 days ago. I am so blown away by Gumshoe that I made a very uncharacteristically impulsive decision to buy tickets for the Austin show and drive 2 hrs to see her. My daughter and I were not disappointed. She was as incredible live as I had hoped. There is nobody out there who sounds like her. On top of that what came across is a humble and honest person. I cannot say enough good things about her or this album. In my view, she should win at least one grammy if not more. She is going everywhere on this tour. Do not miss her singing these songs. You will be missing out on something and someone very special. What an instrument her voice is! So blessed to have found her and to see her live. Thank you, Samantha for overcoming your stage fright to share your incredible talent.
