The band’s performance and backup singing was great. David’s voice was stellar.
The facility is super but the high quality speakers are on the ceiling, perhaps 25 or 30 feet above the stage. My opinion is stage-level speakers are needed.
I think because of the speaker location, it was difficult at first for the sound crew to get David’s (and vocalist/lead guitarist Jeffery’s) microphones dialed in for the first half of the show.
We caught the acoustic show (David and Jeffery only) the week prior at the Knight Stage in Akron and the sound was perfect from the first minute.

This was a live full band performance at the infamous KC venue Knuckleheads Garage. It was also livestreamed on Volume.com for fans who couldn't make it to KC.
A total blast was had by all, including me for sure! When you ask a David Cook fan why they keep going back, show after show, every time David Cook comes within striking distance (and sometimes even when he's NOT nearby) we mostly all say the same thing. No two shows are the same, he's a GREAT live performer, and the vibe in the room is just awesome.
David Cook continues to release great original music, cover amazing songs, show up with a tight band, tell fun stories, and charm his way through a rock show. Huh? Yep. It's a combo that has to be seen to be believed. Don't be surprised when you meet someone in line whose just arrived from 3 states away - or maybe another country. David Cook fans are diehards for a reason! But we're very friendly and if you show up on your own we'll befriend you. Don't miss your chance.

Absolutely loved the show!! Very intimate, acoustic show, nice small venue, with good food, nice wine and a great atmosphere! This was my 1st time seeing David live without the full band. I have such an appreciation for this man’s musical talent!

About David Cook
After a decade of cutting his teeth in the trenches of the Midwest music scene, David Cook immediately launched to stardom following his American Idol Season 7 win – breaking several Billboard chart records when 14 of his songs debuted on the Hot Digital Songs chart, and 11 of his songs debuted on the Hot 100. Cook has since gone on to sell more than 2 million albums (including his platinum-certified eponymous album) and, collectively, more than 5 million tracks (including two platinum-certified singles) worldwide. After a move to Nashville, TN, David continued to find success, not only for himself (his 2015 studio album, DIGITAL VEIN, debuted in the top 5 on the Billboard Pop Chart), but also as a writer for other artists. Cook continues to tour throughout the world in support of his multiple hits.
2018 brought an exciting new EP from Cook – CHROMANCE, and if putting out his 2018 EP wasn’t enough to keep Cook busy, that same year, he headed to the Great White Way for his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in KINKY BOOTS. And he has no plans to slow it down. “I love creative endeavors. I like starting with nothing and then finishing with something that didn’t exist before. That’s my favorite thing about creating new music. I love being able to put something artistic out in the world for people to enjoy.”
In 2020, David released two new singles. The first, "Reds Turn Blue," is a nod to the manic highs (reds) and lows (blues) of anxiety, something David has struggled to overcome since his season seven win on American Idol. As David told People.com: “This song became a therapeutic process for me, as a way to personify my anxiety and make it something other than me — which, in an odd way, has helped me navigate my relationship with it.” To capture that struggle, David worked with artist Justin A. Nixon to create a visual that was “sci-fi and sinister” but left open-ended to represent “that constant battle between anxiety and myself.” And the second, "Strange World," is “my homage to this year,” said David. “Staring out of windows at the world outside, feeling disconnected from it, and trying to find those moments that would normally exist outside, inside.” Both singles, along with the driving "Fire," are from his EP, THE LOOKING GLASS, released in April 2021.
In April 2022, David released his latest single, "TABOS" (This’ll All Be Over Soon). The single’s release coincided with his return to the American Idol® stage to perform for their special 20th-anniversary reunion show.
In July 2024, David released his latest single, Dead Weight, co-written with long-time collaborator, Andy Skib, to coincide with his summer tour.
