Karen Briggs

Karen Briggs is a violinist/composer, born in 1963 in New York. (Manhattan). She took up the violin just before her 12th birthday and was playing in concerts at age 15. She is probably best known for her appearance and fiery solos in the PBS Broadcast of "Yanni: Live At The Acropolis". She has performed in over 45 countries as a featured soloist. Her style as a contemporary world music artist also features a unique soulful improvisation. With that, she has collaborated with a number of musicians and artists in both live and recorded performances and from a variety of genres including, Stanley Clarke, Diana Ross, Ledisi, Soul ll Soul, Loose Ends, Orquesta Aragon, Kirk Franklin and Rza of Wu Tang Clan, Naseer Shamma. Her style is comprised of a variety of world influences.
