Iron Heart

Martin F:
Martin started singing for Clacton based Rhythm & Blues band "Festive Road" back in 1983 at the ripe old age of 16. After a few local gigs & a couple of years of playing the band split & Martin then went on to play & rehearse with several other local bands & musicians before taking a sabbatical from band work & spending time recording original material written by Festive Roads ex-drummer Kev. In 1999 Martin & Kev formed "Phoenix" & played a few local gigs before splitting due to various work commitments. Martin then took a break from playing completely until he was contacted by Martin S late in 2012 & from that Iron Heart was born. Martin uses Shure Microphones & Boss VE20 Vocal effects.

Pete:
Pete originally depped for us on Bass when Martin S left & has been with us ever since, providing his unique Bass Beastliness! Full bio to follow!!

Steve:
'Steve is an experienced guitarist and took lead guitar duties for the successful Essex based hard rock/metal band 'Mercenary' from 1978 to 1985. The band played mainly across East Anglia and enjoyed a number of high profile support slots with rock acts of the day. Steve also played in a band that was the forerunner to The Big Lemon Soul Band, a highly successful soul/motown band. He then went on to play in the Essex classic rock band 'Red Alert' from 2005 to 2009. He is very pleased to be a member of 'IronHeart' and doing what he loves best - playing guitar. Whilst Steve loves his Vox AC30 and Marshall amps, he regularly uses Line 6 guitar modelling technology to create the sounds needed for IronHeart's driving hard rock.
He also uses a vintage Ibanez Destroyer guitar and has a fantastic one-off black/white Chevron Flying V made for him by local guitar maker Dave Gladden - it is a sight to behold!'

Tim:
'Tim is a life long friend of Steve and they have played in a number of bands together over the years. Tim also took guitar duties in 'Mercenary' and recalls great gigs they played. Tim then went on to play lead guitar in 'The Big Lemon Soul Band' for eight years, and played a number of high profile gigs in Clacton, Colchester and Ipswich. He then later re-joined with Steve to also play in 'Red Alert', along with Mark, drummer for 'IronHeart'. Tim says - 'Playing with these guys in IronHeart is such a pleasure and great fun - it's the best'. His current gear includes Blackstar and Laney valve amps with Suhr and Music Man guitars.

Mark:
In the early - mid 80's Mark played in heavy rock band Hunter's Chase (who even got to support Mercenary!!!) & then in the late 80's early 90's with the Blue Meanies ( Blues rock) He then joined ' Moonage Productions' for their Doors tribute shows and later, their Ziggy Stardust performances. He then joined God's Gift (Glam rock) and then Red Alert. Mark uses a Roland electronic drum kit - which we have found is great for smaller venues as the volume can be adjusted giving Iron Heart a very controllable volume whilst still providing a great rock drum sound.
