Taking musical cues from classic British songwriters like Syd Barrett, Nick Drake and Ray Davies, his songs have been variously described as: “captivating” (Stereo Subversion); “thoughtful and genre-defying” (SSG Music); and “eminently beautiful” (The Big Takeover). Over the course of 10 years as a recording artist, he has garnered praise from a host of tastemakers, including KCRW's Mathieu Schreyer and BBC Radio's Gary Crowley. His last record — ‘Volcano’ — received positive reviews from The New York Times, Q, and Brooklyn Vegan. ‘Crystalline’, the album’s first single, was picked as NME's Track of The Day. Ed Vallance’s third full-length record — ‘Midair’ — is slated for release in winter 2017.
