EVAZAN formed in January of 2008 following an impromptu jam session between founding members Michael Mahony, Ralph Garcia, and Nick Barone. The band quickly began to write songs and play shows, and soon Ryan Harden and John Mena joined the mix to create the final lineup. With this cast of talented musicians, EVAZAN has played many shows during the last two years, opening for several national artists including Marcy Playground, Devon Allman, and Nine Days. Alongside these performances, EVAZAN’s recordings have been featured on several radio stations, and the band persistently tours the local scene, winning first place in several band battles, including the Castle’s Teen Battle of the Bands, the Town of Mamakating Battle of the Bands, Alto Music’s/The Keltic House’s Battle of the Bands, and Mountain Creek’s Battle of the Bands. EVAZAN’s live shows consist of a mixture of careful planning and improvisation, where strong melodies intertwine with impressive displays of musical ability. Despite the fact that the members of EVAZAN are all under the age of twenty-three, they demonstrate their maturity as musicians through their ability to adopt and adapt to many different genres and styles. They utilize these skills in both performing and songwriting, creating an eclectic sound. In short, EVAZAN is a passionate group of musicians determined to leave a lasting impression on the minds of those who will listen.
