"On a small village just on the outskirts of St. James in Trinidad, there was a conscious movemement of rastas living in an era where calypso and reggae music played a vital part of day to day living. The man behind the music scene goes by the name of William Nicholas aka Pappa Bird. In 1981 he first built the foundation by starting of with a tube amplifier system and playing the greats of that era to an audience of villagers and locals alike. As time moved on the music collection grew with mainly hard core roots reggae and foundation Rastafarian tributes. Forward Sound today have seen a lot of changes from back in the 80's not only in terms of turntables to cd and serato, but it's selectors as well. As the Forward Sound tree starts to blossom its branches are spreading internationaly, with one based in the UK (Patriot) and the other in Portugal (Alexis, Egas & Muska).
