About Chicago Bonfire

Bonfire is an AC/DC tribute to the late Bon Scott, the 33-year-old singer who died on February 19th, 1980 from alcohol poisoning. AC/DC was climbing in fame and in the charts with their hit record “Highway To Hell” when the unthinkable happened. The band reached multi-platinum status in their next effort, “Back In Black,” with their new singer Brian Johnson, who continues to sing with the band today. Bonfire performs AC/DC's Bon Scott-era classics. Included in the show are the hits “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” “TNT,” “Highway To Hell,” “Whole Lotta Rosie,” and their show-stopper: “Bad Boy Boogie.” The band premiered on the 20th anniversary of Bon Scott’s death. The band performs locally in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana areas, and travels in the Midwest. Due to popular demand, the band added to its repertoire songs performed by current singer Brian Johnson, such favorites as “Back In Black,” “Thunderstruck,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.” Bonfire has supported national acts, such as Jackyl, Skid Row, Dokken and L.A. Guns, and has headlined many venues across the Chicagoland area. The group was voted Chicagoland’s Best Tribute Act in 2003 and 2004 by the Midwest Beat Magazine’s local reader’s poll. The band is supported by radio personalities Freak of WRXQ 100.7FM, Dan McNeil of ESPN AM1000 and Indiana’s Tom Lounges of Night Rock on XRock 103.9FM. Bonfire has worked with many club owners, booking agents and sound companies. Bonfire relives the awesome live performances of AC/DC. Zeke dons Angus Young’s’ trademark schoolboy outfit, while performing his crazy stage antics onstage. Jim recreates the vocals of both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. The group ultimately stages the wall of Marshall Stacks to add to the effect of a real AC/DC concert! Chicago's AC/DC Tribute Band is: Jim Hillegonds as Tiny Johnson. Zeke Rongers as Anus Hung. Ben Girnus as Riff Williams, Gary Grimler as Phil Pudd, and Dylan Gramt as Talcom Dung
