About The Deep Red Sky

Scottish, alternative Indie 5 piece band, combining distorted guitar and bass soundscapes with melodic, heartfelt harmonies and glockenspiel. The Deep Red Sky create songs that don't sound out of place on any radio playlist despite their love for the unexpected and their post rock leanings. The Deep Red Sky released their debut album Plans in May 2013 and it was well received by blogs and radio alike, receiving support from the likes of Jim Gellatly (Amazing Radio, In Demand), Tom Morton (Radio Scotland), Iain Anderson (Radio Scotland) and Sarah Champion (Absolute Radio). 2013 looks set to be a big year for The Deep Red Sky as they look to build on the success of 'Plans'. A return to The Edinburgh Fringe and The Acoustic Music Centre at St Brides where they sold out back to back dates last year kicks off a long run of late summer performances that will see the band take their music to new audiences with a soon to be announced U.K. wide tour while they work on the next big release. Praise for 'Plans': "Subtle and beautiful all at the same time... a definite buy" - Is This Music? "Melancholic and yet somehow harmonically epic" - Just Another DIY Blog "A convincing and accomplished album from one of Scotland's most exciting young bands" - The Whiteboard Project "Energetic, melodic and emotionally affecting" - When You Motor Away Scottish, alternative Indie 5 piece, combining distorted guitar and bass soundscapes with melodic, heartfelt harmonies and glockenspiel.
