Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder,Gary Numan, Telex y etc.Biografía: When electronic music had not yet arrived in Buenos Aires, Miguel Silver and Luis Nieva were already behind the decks trying to decode an imported culture. Today they credit a 20-year-old career cohesively developed from underground to mainstream. Both influenced by house and techno from Chicago and Detroit, there is no local relevant club that has not had this referent pair on its DJ booth. Apart from their sound explorations, they contributed with a specialized record-store -when the market was still very limited- and a revolutionary 8-DJs crew called Urban Groove, a format that rolled since 1994 with their cult parties, their live performances and was responsible for the first local electronic music productions. Decided to experiment, Miguel and Luis left the Urban Groove in 2001 and launched the explosive duo Spitfire, moniker derived from the legendary fighter aircraft used during the Second World War. With 4 turntables, 2 mixers and effects machines, they "knit" original tunes in real time: a challenge based on improvisation with high doses of techno, house, minimal and "old skool". For special occasions, the duo becomes a full band with Julio Jiménez (guitar and bass), Carlos Shaw (keyboards and vocals) and Rodrigo Paciornik (percussion) as Spitfire Live to continue experimenting through a high-impact live show. Usually performing at the most important clubs in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Latin America, Spitfire has shared the booth with DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, James Zabiela, Renato Cohen and Derrick Carter. Furthermore, they have also played at every Creamfields Buenos Aires edition -where they played after Jeff Mills, Dubfire and Aril Brikha"s sets, among others, - at Live! parties with Ladytron and LCD Soundsystem, at Brahma Beats Festival and at SónarSound Buenos Aires with Laurent Garnier, among other artists. Well-known around South America (they usually play in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Uruguay), the duo has a strong presence in Brazil thanks to the excellent reaction of the public. This link was reinforced through their sets in Sao Paulo"s Skol Beats 2004 and 2006 (where they played with local DJs Anderson Noise, Mau Mau and Fabrizio Pecanha and international artists such as Josh Wink and Dave Clarke) and through their cd mix Hypno Series Vol. 2: Spitfire DJ set released on Brazilian label URBR. Well respected as local electronic music pioneers, their wide musical selections sound once a week on their own Spitfire show on Metrodance FM 95.1, twice a month at the legendary Club 69 and at United Colors of Sound, the new party they organized at the Buenos Aires club Bahrein. SPIFIRE duo again in 2010 published a new LP with 12 tracks called "1. 1 "to submit the entire 2011 on an extensive tour throughout Argentina and the rest of South America Cuando la música electrónica todavía no había hecho su descarga en Buenos Aires, Miguel Silver y Luis Nieva ya estaban detrás de las bandejas decodificando una cultura inicialmente importada. Hoy llevan más de veinte años de una trayectoria coherentemente desarrollada desde el underground hasta el mainstream. Influenciados por el house y el techno de Chicago y Detroit, estos dos indiscutidos referentes pisaron las cabinas de los clubs que fortalecieron el desarrollo de la escena local. Además de sus exploraciones sonoras, aportaron al fenómeno emergente de una disquería especializada -cuando el mercado era aún limitado- hasta la potencia de un revolucionario colectivo de ocho DJs en 1994: la Urban Groove, un formato que sorprendió al público con sus fiestas de culto, performances en vivo y la edición de los primeros trabajos discográficos de electrónica en el país. Decididos a continuar su carrera en una vertiente más experimental, Miguel y Luis dejaron la agrupación en 2001 y concibieron la explosiva dupla Spitfire, alias tomado del mítico avión caza de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Con un rider de cuatro bandejas, dos mixers y una máquina de efectos, entretejen originales piezas en tiempo real: un desafío basado en la improvisación con altas dosis de techno, sazonadas con minimal house y old skool. En ocasiones especiales la dupla se complementa con Julio Jiménez (guitarra y bajo), Carlos Shaw (teclados y voz) y Rodrigo Paciornik como Spitfire live para extender su experimentación mediante un formato en vivo de alto impacto. Presentes en las discotecas más importantes de Buenos Aires, el interior del país y a lo largo de América Latina, Spitfire compartió cabina junto a djs como Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, James Zabiela, Renato Cohen y Derrick Carter. Además, fueron parte de todas las ediciones del festival Creamfields Buenos Aires -donde pincharon luego de los sets de Jeff Mills, Dubfire y Aril Brikha, entre otros-, la propuesta 1Live! -junto a Ladytron y LCD Soundsystem-, el festival Brahma Beats y el SónarSound Buenos Aires con Laurent Garnier, entre otros artistas. Habituales en la escena sudamericana (Perú, Venezuela y Uruguay son algunos de los países que suelen visitar), el dúo logró instalarse en Brasil, obteniendo una excelente respuesta del público. Este vínculo se reafirmó con su desembarco en el festival paulista Skol Beats en 2004 y 2006 (junto a bandas como The Prodigy, también DJs locales como Anderson Noise, Mau Mau y Fabricio Pecanha o los internacionales Josh Wink y Dave Clarke) y con la edición por el sello brasileño URBR del cd mix Hypno Series Vol. 2: Spitfire DJ set. Reconocidos por sus pares como pioneros de la cultura electrónica vernácula, sus criteriosas selecciones musicales se escuchaban hasta principios de 2009 semanalmente al aire en el segmento especial Spitfire, emitido por Metrodance FM 95.1 y, actualmente se escuchan en clubes como Pacha (BsAs) y en su residencia quincenal en el legendario Club 69. Como SPIFIRE el duo de nuevo en 2010 publicó un nuevo disco con 12 temas llamado "1. 1" a presentar todo el 2011 en una extensa gira por toda la Argentina y el resto de América del Sur SINCE 2001
