About Decrypted
Decrypted started as a project, originally called “Slies”, dreamt up in Poland by guitarist Martin Luczynski.
Forced to move to London in pursuit of a better life, Martin wouldn’t give up on the dream and immediately started searching for a line-up.
The band was born in early 2013, in Ed's (former drummer) small living room in East London, with nothing more than a digital drum kit, a guitar and loads of inspiration. Later joined guitarist Ricardo Almeida and bassist Rafal Siek. And in early 2016 the line-up was finally complete, with the recruitment of frontman Steve Kerr; enabling the sound to burst out of the rehearsal studio and onto London’s live music scene later that year.
The amazing response received from live shows, such as Extreme Riot Fest ‘16, Heavy Xmas ‘16 at the O2 Academy and the Death Remains’ Destroy/Rebuild tour launch show, marked the beginning OF A promising journey.
In March 2017, however, the band suffered a slight setback - Ed decided to leave and return to Brazil.
The group continued to push through the recording process of their debut EP whilst on the hunt for a new drummer, but had to step down from the stage as a result.
A few auditions down the line and with their debut single/music video now in hand (due to be released in September), Decrypted finally found their missing piece, Vincent Labelle. And will be making a comeback onto the live circuit, supporting Exist Immortal, on August 31st.
