One Day Steady

One Day Steady is a raw up and coming alternative rock band from Cincinnati with a sound that is catching attention across the nation for their 90's-esque roots mixed with new age rock. Their first album" We Might Be Crazy" was featured in "Music Connection Magazine" and they were recently published by "Impulcity" as being one of the Top 13 Bands To See In Cincinnati. Their high energy shows have gave them the privilege to share the stage with many national acts such as Smash Mouth, The Mowgli's, The Misfits, Local H, The Ataris, & Brick+ Mortar. One Day Steady however began long before the band was ever in existence. It began with Ryan Peters and Tucker Stremming writing music and forming a band called "Drop From The Top" in 2008 with Matthew Gauck on Drums and Clint Vaughn on Bass. Tucker is a classically trained in Guitar and played in Jazz Band throughout high school. When the band dismantled in 2009 Tucker and Ryan continued writing on the side while continuing going to school. In early 2010 they both decided to form a band again and to surround themselves with musicians who had the same goals and aspirations. The first person recruited was Tyler Snipes (Bass Player) September of 2010. Tyler then proceeded to get us in contact with Garrett "Gerbil" Skirvin who became our drummer in October of 2010. "Gerbil" is a well accomplished drummer who is a classically trained percussionist who was, at the time, involved in jazz ensambles and marching percussion groups. Shortly after our first show in the spring, Tyler left the band to pursue other music and is currently in "The Getaway". We are still close friends. Shortly after Tyler leaving the band we recruited Garrett Zimmerman to play Bass in March of 2011. Garrett came from a heavy metal background and was the guitarist in a post-hardcore band called "Give Us The Night". We then decided to recruit one more member to the band to play percussion. Trevor Helton filled this role and could be considered the life of the band at many of our shows. Trevor Helton joined the band in April of 2011. Ryan, Tucker,Garrett, Gerbil , & Trevor came up with the name One Day Steady because we believed it matched our different sound with the belief "we are only the same for one day" We continued as a five piece band for over a year and played at venues all over the city including The Mad Hatter, The Mockabee, The Venue 42, Ryan's Tavern, Hill Station, UC's Catskeller, Baba Budan's, & many other places. We also recorded our first EP the summer of 2011 called "We Might Be Crazy" which was released May 12th, 2012. Trevor left the band after our CD Release show to focus on school in May of 2012. Our band has finally however maintained a consistent lineup with Ryan Peters, Garrett Skirvin, Tucker Stremming and Garrett Zimmerman. "All For One And One For All !!!! " We have played some bigger venues including head lining Bogart's, The Madison Theater, The Thompson House, The Mad Frog, Emerson Theater, Be Here Now, The Hoosier Dome,The Agora for The Cleveland Music Festival. In the spring of 2014 we released our second album "Cinematic" which encompassed the beginning of an edgier more driven ODS sound that has been received extremely well. One Day Steady has had the privilege of opening for many national acts.
