About Grant Ferguson
Welcome to the world of instrumental Rock Guitarist Grant Ferguson. In his debut CD "Decay & Devotion" (Melodik Records) Ferguson explores a broad array of sounds, some reminiscent of early Jeff Beck ("Euphoric Recall"), others more evocative of Zaza or Satriani ("April Song", "November"), still others full of haunting, celtic-tinged beauty ("Gratitude", "From the Throne", "Devotion"). His version of "The Loner", a tribute to the late Gary Moore, ranks among the best cover versions of the tune. On the heels of Grant Ferguson's stunning debut CD comes another high-energy, masterfully composed collection of original melodic rock - "Toward the Light" (Melodik Records, 2013). Like the material on his first album, Grant's compositions cover a broad palette, from the energetic, ESPN-theme-song-like title track to the Gimouresque "Dark Soul", to the movie-score worthy "Persephone" or the haunting, celtic "Tears of St Kilda." Grant's cover of Oasis' "Wonderwall" is his first vocal recording and this powerful and evocative rock version easily rivals that of the original. This powerful guitarist and composer continues to refine his unique melodic and harmonic sense, an evolution showcased beautifully in his second album. Ferguson brings the same superb taste and virtuosity to his gigs. He honed his chops at the Atlanta Institute of Music, exploring ways to integrate more jazz concepts into his traditional rock and blues roots. Grant is also the founder and director of Rock Boot Camp®, which brings one-of-a-kind musical experiences to workshops for kids in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. There’s nothing like great guitar sounds, and now there’s a new star on the horizon. For more information, see www.grantfergusonmusic.com.
