Atlas : Empire

Atlas : Empire are a Progressive / Alt. Rock band, based in Glasgow, UK. Since forming in the Summer of 2011, founding members Steven Gillies & Jamie Sturt have been the creative driving force of the band, providing vocals, guitars, keys, programming and songwriting. They have been joined by a slew of talented players over the years - but with the addition of drummer Ben Montgomery in late 2015 and bassist Robert Hasebe in mid-2017, Atlas : Empire is stronger than ever. To date, Atlas : Empire have released three EPs ; To the Astronaut... (2012) Produced by Chris Gordon (Union of Knives, Song of Return, Light Guides) Somnus (2013) Mixed & mastered by Oz Craggs. (Feed the Rhino, Mallory Knox) For the Satellites (2015) Mixed & mastered by Jonny Renshaw. (Devil Sold His Soul, Rinoa) Tracks from “To the Astronaut...” were featured on BBC Introducing (Radio 1), while “Somnus” was exclusively streamed on Rocksound's website prior to release. Both EPs received positive reviews in the alternative music press with, Rocksound proclaiming “Somnus” to be “a lesson in progressive rock.” A:E have shared stages with dozens of incredible bands, including Devil Sold His Soul, O’Brother, Wintersleep, Saves The Day, Empire & the Xcerts. They have also toured extensively throughout the UK and EU, with artists including Closure in Moscow, Victor Villareal, Kurt Travis, Listener & The Appleseed Cast.
