De La Purissima

De La Purissima was formed in 2009 when actress and singer Julia de Castro and bass player and composer Miguel Rodrigáñez met They hit it off during a jam session when they discovered a mutual passion for jazz, classical music and early twentieth century spanish cabaret music or as we say in spanish CUPLÉ.They decided to develop a project that allows jazz to mix different cultural elements in search of a unique sound. This type of music brings together scenic improvisation and a fearless Mediterranean flavour in its lyricism, which merges the words of a Spanish woman who lived at the beginning of the century with a contemporary harmony.
