Loved that he did some of his newer songs and not all the old standards. Plus the covers he did, (Bowie) were excellent. Love me some Boy.

Last night a group of friends went to the concert and we were all a little disappointed. We all think that the concert should have included the vast majority of hits and many were excluded. After 30 years without visiting the Island, the public expected to hear them and without special arrangements. Lastly, the entire promotion included 3 of the original members, including Boy George, and it was only him who was there.

Starting off with Berlin as a support was not too bad. Terri still has it and even with a torn hamstring managed to get down off stage and part way up the stairs to kick off a great cover of Highway to Hell. Culture Club was great, but I couldn’t help feel there was a slight flatness to the show. Don’t get me wrong, vocals and music were on point, there was just something not quite right for me. Light show and fog machine use was probably among the worst I’ve seen. For a lot of the show, the band became invisible. Not sure the audience needs to be lit up to the point you can’t see the band.

With a career spanning over 30 years he first shot to international stardom in the 1980’s as the front man of one of the UK’s biggest exports - Culture Club - and had continued success as a solo artist. He has sold over 150 million records with top 10 hits in every country. However it is his new album, ‘This Is What I Do’, that reinforces his love for writing & singing. The DJ – Boy George is universally recognised as one of the music scenes most iconic artists and for the past 30 years has maintained a strong position at the forefront of this ever-changing, multi-faceted industry. With an ever-expanding and prolific musical output, his presence as a DJ and producer continues to attract high praise from the scene’s most revered tastemakers and media outlets. A DJ since the late 70’s, Boy George has had a long and successful career associated with house music stemming from early acid house and Chicago grooves in the 80’s, through to electro and tech house in the 90’s and 00’s. One of the Top 100 DJ's in the world for nearly 25 years, his travel commitments have seen him pack out events in over 75 countries around the world at powerhouse venues like Amnesia in Ibiza, Ministry of Sound in London, Zouk in Singapore, Pacha in New York and Guvernment in Toronto.
