About WaveSauce
WaveSauce, an instrumental surf | pulp | spyfi band offering the unique sounds of the Theremin -- this band is sure to intrigue. Pete Vercellotti, Guitar | Cookie, Theremin | Joel Boutwell, Bass Guitar | Doug, Drums "...When you hear them, the instrumental turf they tread is pretty obvious. Other citations, such as Dick Dale, The Ventures, Devo, Clara Rockmore and Leon Theremin, are totally appropriate in an attempt to capture a description of the nuances of their sound. I guarantee you will never again see those five names linked in a single sentence. It really is a weird musical world in which we dwell. And this is how weird I am, I can actually understand the relationships of those references and I think they define the parameters of this band quite precisely. In other words: Wow!" SP Clarke, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. Beginning their musical venture as a surf duo, guitarist, Pete Vercellotti and thereminist, Michele “Cookie” Heile formed WaveSauce in the Spring of 2007. WaveSauce has been performing as a four-piece since March of 2008. The ethereal Theremin, vintage guitar tone, and creative renditions of traditional surf tunes, give this band a tasty, reverb-a-licious edge that sets them apart from the rest. WaveSauce has found influence in The Seeds, The Greenhorns, The Blue Hawaiians, Laika and the Kosmonauts, Man or Astro-man?, Neil Young, the Ventures, Jerry Cole, Dick Dale, Clara Rockmore, Leon Theremin, Devo, Surf, Pulp Fiction, Film Noir, B-Rated Horror and Scifi, Lounge, 60s Garage Rock, Exotica, Biker and Hot Rod Films. Take a moment to listen to Mosquito Serenade, Black Cat Strut, and Lost Semaphore, some of WaveSauce's originals.
