BLIGHT

This is Blight. An alternative metal band from Timisoara (Romania), you probably haven’t heard of...

That’s about to change. Blight first blossomed at some point back in 2010. It took the shape of four fresh-faced lads that had a taste for rigging up various mishmashes of guitar, percussion and mouth-based noises, labeling the
result songs, and generally giving the finger to typical genre-clichés.

For the last few years, the Blight lay dormant, bubbling and brewing somewhere beneath the
dankest, murkiest and grimiest underbelly of Timisoara’s underground Alternative scene. In the meantime, some faces have changed, tunings were dropped, upgrades were installed, beards were grown, and hairlines receded. But now the germination cycle is complete, and we’re ready to burst out and bust some heads. And by bust some heads, we mean blow some minds. WITH RIFFS. Blight is currently a five bodied man-thing and goes by the human names of Vali (vocals), Victor (guitar), Vlad (guitar), Jess (bass), and Seba (drums). Our first record is a 5 track EP entitled Rotten Lieder
, produced and recorded with the invaluable help of Mihai Toma (Tomcat Music and Sound),
and due for release on the 19th of December 2015. During our sporadic incursions on the surface world, we’ve had the pleasure of sharing a stage with many kick-ass bands and acts, among them Implant Pentru Refuz (RO), White Walls (RO), The Egocentrics (RO), Dystopia(HU), Kuriri(SRB), Torso(AUT), Bad Guys (UK), Haos (RO) and Nomega (RO).
