A native of Rhode Island, Callery taught herself to sing and play fingerstyle guitar by listening to her parents' collection of U.K. folk records from the '60s and '70s. Teaming up with Rhode Island-based musician and producer Bob Kendall, she recorded a session for Folk Radio U.K., which was released as an EP in 2014. The EP, which featured several original songs and a cover of the traditional British folk classic "Blackwater Side," also introduced subtle psychedelic textures into her music. That same year, Callery made her debut at Austin's SXSW festival. In 2015 Allysen sang with indie folk band Haunt the House at Newport Folk Festival. Ghost Folk
