About Keepers of the Capo
Keepers of the Capo is a four piece instrumental band hailing from North Attleboro, MA. The band specializes in playing a unique blend of psychedelic rock and heavy metal, drawing its influences from both the psychedelic rock music of the 1960's; such as Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, Donovan, and King Crimson, as well as heavier, more modern groups such as Tool, Coheed & Cambria, and Neurosis. The bands sound has been compared to Tool, Explosions in the Sky, and Russian Circles. Founding members Sam Skinner and Griffin Fisher started the band in the summer of 2007 and had played for some time as an acoustic/ psychedelic folk duo. In the summer of 2011, Griffin made the switch from guitar to drums and the band began to take a heavier approach to their song writing. Greg Jordan was subsequently added on synthesizer soon after, and Tom Brown joined the band for a brief stint as vocalist, before switching to bass. The band is currently looking for a vocalist to complete the line-up, and continue to play as an instrumental group in the meantime. 12/9- Simon's 681 (Club X), 12/18- PVD Social Club, 12/22- The Middle East
