Nicole Eva Emery Music

Nicole Eva Emery is an artist who has worked behind closed doors of her intimate home recording setup for years, finally recording her debut album with producer Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Lord Huron), set for release in 2014. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Emery relocated to Los Angeles at 16, and soon began working at the legendary McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica. The 7 year stint shaped her musical sensibilities and allowed her to experience styles that would inevitably influence her own songwriting. She has played and recorded with legendary artists including Bob Dylan and Rickie Lee Jones, as well as other artists like Jesca Hoop, Lissie, Leslie Stevens, and the Black Ryder, which she is currently a member. While becoming a nurse, Emery continued to write songs as a way to stay sane in a time of great stress. Now working in a trauma-centered Emergency department, her environment is a constant chaos of human emotion and personal challenge. The songs that have emerged move from intimate and intense to shattering and raw. Influenced by psychedelic rock, garage, shoe-gaze and post-punk, as well classic girl groups, eastern european music, and classic americana, Emery's music rearranges genres, while treading between lightness and depth.
