SHAYWISE BIO The band SHAYWISE was founded by musician Jay Kennedy in 1995. SInce it's founding SHAYWISE has released a number of successful albums including "Faces In the Clouds" which produced the hit "When I'm Alone" which has reached as high as number two on the regional Blues charts. From the late 90's to beyond 2000 SHAYWISE has performed twice on Star Search and toured the entire eastern and mid-western United States performing on the same stages as many music giants including Sister Hazel, Hootie and The Blowfish, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshal Tucker and Sugar Ray to name a few. The name SHAYWISE came through the most unfortunate of circumstances. The brother in law of founder Jay Kennedy was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 1999. His name was Ansel Shay Wise and he was 21 years old. Shay had once joked that Kennedy should call the band "Shay WIse" and after his death it became a lasting tribute as "SHAYWISE" to a friend and brother. After a short run with Universal Music Group in 2004 the newly formed Ansel Records released Faces In The Clouds, internationally, on New Years Eve 2005 and it has become the bands most successful and sought after recording to date. SHAYWISE continues to perform in it's concert home of Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas and has done so for the past fifteen years. The recent partnership between Scott Byrd of "Song Byrd Entertainment" and Kennedy of SHAYWISE will be the next step in a flourishing career. With a music selection that crosses all genres and a unique style that reaches all people, it is easy to see how a career approaching two decades is possible.
