Mikkel Solnado nasceu em Outubro de 1975 em Copenhaga na Dinamarca. Aos 6 anos, o filho do ator Raul Solnado e de Hanne Louise regressava a Portugal com a sua família. Aos 11 anos, Mikkel descobriu pela primeira vez a banda Iron Maiden, na qual ficou fascinado pelo trabalho do baterista Nicko McBrain. Despoletando a sua paixão pela música e com a ajuda do seu pai, Mikkel construiu o seu primeiro estúdio em casa onde aprendeu a tocar bateria. Mais tarde começou a sua primeira banda chamada Husk onde cantava, tocava bateria e compunha canções. Após esta experiência, Mikkel decidiu seguir em frente e começou a tocar guitarra e a compor melodias. Em 1995, Mikkel regressou com a sua família à Dinamarca onde conheceu novos estilos artísticos, o que lhe permitiu desenvolver a sua carreira. O estilo que desenvolveu permitiu-lhe começar a compor para outros músicos, especialmente na área do hip-hop, canções infantis para programas de televisão, assim como dublagens e temas para jogos infantis online. Depois de muitos anos a atuar com várias bandas de Rock e Death Metal, Mikkel começou a trabalhar na produção de “Gabriel Flies” e em 2006 esse foi o nome dado à banda a que se juntou entre 2007 e 2010. Este foi o período em que Mikkel desenvolveu a sua experiência em produção criando jingles, canções e temas para anúncios. “We Can Do Anything” foi o primeiro single que Mikkel Solnado lançou a solo. Começou como um tema para um anúncio de televisão da Volkswagen, o que conduziu várias pessoas a interessar-se pela canção. O sucesso foi tão grande que Mikkel e a sua banda foram convidados pela agência para gravar o videoclip na Colômbia. De repente, o tema de um anúncio alterava a rota do artista que o conduziu a uma carreira a solo. Com as alterações na sua vida, Mikkel Solnado regressou a Portugal em 2009 onde vive até ao momento. Inspirado por artistas como Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, Coldplay e John Mayer, Mikkel continua a sua carreira a solo que não pára de crescer. Em 2014 lançou “Daisy Chains”, o seu segundo álbum de carreira. Com hits como “E Agora?” com Joana Alegre e “Get Up” com Tom Enzy, Mikkel Solnado é um dos artistas mais requisitados nas rádios nacionais. EN Mikkel Solnado was born October 1975 in Copenhagen, Denmark to the Son of Portuguese Actor Raul Solnado and his Danish Mother, Hanne Louise.. At 6 months old the family relocated to Portugal. It was at the early age of 11 in Portugal, Mikkel first found the band Iron Maiden and was fascinated by the band's drummer, Nicko McBrain. Mikkel´s father recognised his passion and helped build his first studio in the house where he first learned to play drums. Mikkel´s first band in Portugal was called Husk where he played drums, sang and wrote the lyrics. Wanting to move on from just playing playing drums Mikkel decided to pick up the guitar and began writing lyrics and composing melodies. In 1995, the promise of a more free and artistic lifestyle, not found in Portugal, brought his Family back to Denmark.Since moving back to his native country Mikkel lived the life he craved. The style Mikkel developed led him to start developing compositions for other musicians, especially hip-hop, writing songs for children's television programs, as well as voice-overs, and music sound design for online games for kids . After years of playing in Various Rock and Death Metal Bands Mikkel began working on producing "Gabriel Flies" and in 2006 this was the name given to the band that joined from 2007 to 2010. It was this period that enhanced Mikkel´s Production experience launching him into Professional Producer status while the team wrote jingles, songs and commercials. "We Can Do Anything" was the first single to launch Mikkel into the limelight. It started as a television ad for Volkswagen, but that quickly led people to call the ad agency to ask where they could buy the song. It was then that the agency proposed to help the musician and his band, and offered them a chance to record a video clip in Colombia. Suddenly a song written for an advert helped change Mikkel´s direction once again. With the death of his father, Raul Solnado in August 2009, the musician experienced a turnaround in his life and career. Tired of living in Denmark, he decided to return to Portugal. With the arrows pointing to the destination Portugal, Mikkel Solnado moved to Lisbon, where he currently lives. Inspired by artists like Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, Coldplay and John Mayer, Mikkel’s career continues to grow. In 2014 released his second solo album “Daisy Chains”.
