If there was ever something noble in perserverance, Sweden..s NINE embody it. Since their inception way back in 1994, NINE have always had their thumbs on what it is that makes a band emanate integrity and forthrightness. A long history to prove it, all guns are now blazing for the future for these swedes.?? Never resting on their laurels, NINE have disregarded current bandwagons and made decisions based solely upon their own musical passion and sense of creative needs, as opposed to choosing the fast track to being Kings for a day and Fools for a lifetime. Ever since the groundbreaking debut EP “To The Bottom” in -95, through the classic metal/hardcore stapels “Listen” (1996), “Kissed By The Misanthrope” (1998) and the experimental grooves of “Light..s Out”(2001), ending with the utter ferocity of the heralded 2003 masterpiece “Killing Angels”(2003), NINE have continued to garner the ever-increasing respect and admiration of fans, press and music industry alike. In the spring of 2006, the release of the “Death Is Glorious” EP marked a sidestep for NINE. The EP displayed a band with one foot in its glorious past all the while paving the way for the imminent future – eclectic, back-to-the-roots songwriting, both raw and melodic, but done by a band rediscovering the passion of being themselves.?? Whether it be on record or in a live setting, NINE have always conveyed an intensely physical experience. With extensive touring behind them (joining up on different occasions with Converge, The Haunted, Nasum, Entombed, Disfear, The Hope Conspiracy to name but a few), NINE is a band that continues to take the importance of impact, intensity and at times introspection a step further.?? Maturing from its early incarnation as a metallic Swedish hardcore band with a melodic twist to an identity of heavy, gritty, yet accessible death rock, the band shakes the world of metal, rock and hardcore with a defiant slap in the face.
