Affection

Instead of being tied to a single conventional genre, Affection found it’s unique and versatile sound within it’s members distinct musical backgrounds. Combined with rich and powerful lyrics, this has been the band’s resonant foundation from the beginning. Striving from Helsinki, Finland, this indomitable power engine has been fusing elements of modern rock and alternative metal since 2013.

Released in 2014, Affection’s self-titled EP introduced the audience to the group’s raw, rhytmic energy, hard hitting guitar riffs, and memorable melodies. These core elements continue to be the backbone of Affection’s music to this day. Soon after release of the EP, the group became known for their energetic and explosive live shows.

In 2016, the band shifted it’s focus to writing new material. This time there were many new flavours which found their way into the music. These new ingredients powerfully augmented the band’s musical palette, resulting in a deep and relentless yet balanced outcome. “Remnants”, Affection’s upcoming full-length album, grew from this new material.

In March 2017 Affection released the single “Thousand Mirrors”, which was played in Radio Rock, the biggest rock and metal oriented radio station in Finland. The rest of the album was produced and recorded during 2018 and 2019 in three parts. Due to the unexpected chaos caused by global pandemic, Affection’s first full-length album, “Remnants” will be finally released at the beginning of 2022. Stay tuned!
