barstool astronaut /ˈbär, sto͞ol astrəˌnôt/ noun. 1. a person who spends most his or her time at the pub speaking of things they will one day accomplish but never actually attempting those things as they are usually at the pub talking about the things they will one day accomplish. 2. a producer based in Los Angeles, CA who composes mostly electronic music. 3. a seat, usually high and having a round, cushioned top (often used for seating customers at a bar) which is also trained for spaceflight. 4. electronica fueled with post-rock and built for space travel drawing from influences such as Bonobo, Aphex Twin, Tycho, Trent Reznor, and Maserati. 5. electronic music performed live sans computers, but with keyboards, drums, and looping instead.
