Apoc has always had a knack for finding the absurd in the everyday. Emerging from the indie rap explosion of the Aughts, Apoc set himself apart with his rapidfire delivery and ability to inject whimsy into whatever subject he was tackling, from relationships to addiction to politics. Over time his skills, like his wit, have only sharpened. They earned him the opportunity to perform at festivals like POP Montreal and NXNE, tour nationally, and share stages with heroes and peers like KRS-One, Open Mike Eagle, and Lupe Fiasco. His talents were further recognized through collaborations with other indie rap luminaries like R.A.P. Ferreira, Psalm One, and Tim Fite. His music has been heard in films and TV shows like ‘Jersey Shore,’ ‘Hit the Floor,’ and ‘Disaster Date.’ He’s rapped for crowds in the thousands, DJed for crowds in the 100s, and mounted solo exhibitions of his visual art. His music videos have accrued hundreds of thousands of views online, been featured on Fuse On Demand, and played at film festivals from Colorado to Atlanta to London. Never one to rest on his laurels, Apoc’s genre-hopping musical output through the 2010s reflected his restless spirit as the decade found him leaving his native Chicago behind for the perceived greener grass of NYC, Detroit, Portland, Florida, Colorado, Northwest England, Ljubljana Slovenia and more. Finally settling just north of the Mexican border in Chula Vista California, he thinks he’s found what he’s been searching for, forging a new sound that is distinctly his own.
