Jeremy Johnson

British singer-songwriter Jeremy Johnson combines poetic narrative songwriting, sonorous vocals and accomplished guitar melodies in his powerful, intricately constructed music.

The songs Jeremy performs tell of hard won life experience, existential pondering and adventures of the heart, born from travels to all corners of our planet.

Jeremy weaves his music primarily through his extensive experience in different styles of guitar music overlain with a talent for vocal melody and musicality. The seeds of his songwriting stretch back to 2009, given time to grow and mature, his fully formed compositions came to light in 2016 when Jeremy began exploring music as a full-time career.

Jeremy began his professional musical journey in Holland, playing open mics amongst the musical heritage of Groningen’s Eurosonic Showcase and Norderzon festivals. 2016 took him to the southern hemisphere, with guitar and surfboard in hand to spend a year playing gigs and surfing waves from far northern Sumatra (Indonesia) to Taranaki’s (New Zealand) wild volcanic coastline.

Jeremy then returned to Europe, wintering in the French Alpine ‘apres ski’ scene, before competing his first dedicated European summer tour through France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany and Holland becoming the first musician to book a tour through the Quiksilver Boardriders venues network.

Jeremy’s first self-released album ‘32nd Orbit’ enjoyed significant local radio play in the midlands on both BBC Introducing and Touch FM, leading to a BBC interview at BBC Introducing Live by DJ Andrew Marston and a live acoustic session played at Wave Radio in France. Jeremy also wrote and recorded a jingle for BBC Introducing Suffolk’s Wednesday evening show.

Jeremy is currently working on his second album with producer Simon Britcliffe (Snow Patrol, Keane) at Decoy Studios in Suffolk which is due for general release in March 2019.

Born in Kent to a musical family, Jeremy has become a world-traveler, sportsman, scientist and jack-of-all-trades, culminating in an individual, expressive and intoxicating style of song-writing.
