Elder

Elder rules supreme. They pillaged for more than two straight hours, song after song, and in clogs no less.  It's true. The bass player was wearing clogs...and he could kick your teeth in with them every time he laid skin to the heavy strings.  He was front and center, before the drummer, who sat on a riser, holding court before us all. Their timing was tighter than a swiss clock. Neither of them missed a change (there are a lot of them), and laid down an indestructible foundation to rebuild all that the wrecking ball of icy guitars destroyed. I say icy because the endless licks, riffs, and solos coming from either side of the bass, trading off leads with each other throughout the performance, were hard and cold and sharp edged. But when they applied heat from their insurmountable build-ups, to come crashing down on our heads with wave after wave of inspiring chord progressions, that ice melted into a torrent of incredible atmospheric metal such as I've never heard. There is some truly remarkable musicianship to be discovered in Elder; from the precise count of their extended measures to the melodic paths chosen to best express themselves.  It is music I never knew I identified with so deepy until they absolutely murdered me with it.

Elder was great at MSG. They were nice and loud I felt them in my chest Thanks to Tool for letting them open. Congrats to them for getting to play MSG.

Elder delivered a great performance in Copenhagen, tight and melodic. The sound in the venue was not the best though.

Probably the best metal show I’ve seen in ten years. These guys have been such a pleasure to watch grow and mature over the years and their live performances are a blast.

Wow. And I mean wow. I have gotten to see this band 3 different times in 3 different cities. And wow. This is a band to see live and enjoy live. The sounds is SOOO GOOD. The live versions are flawless. My new favorite band.

One of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my live!!! Elder was incredible and tight, sound was perfect and just right (unlike the terrible Quixote venue in downtown LA) and everything about it was magical that night. Thank you guys for such an amazing show!!!!!!!! Heart and ears totally melted.

I saw them the night before and all I have are stupid adjectives like amazing and awesome, but they were better than that. This night was just as good, maybe better, i don't know. How can you judge? Excellence is excellent. Super cool guys. I looked at the upcoming N. America Tour Pt. 1. Super bummed, they aren't coming anywhere near central pa. Who do I blame for this? Promotors/Venues, get these guys back in PA now!!! Shout outs; Ruby The Hatchet and Dreadnaught

I had been listening to Elder for about 4 or 5 years. I heard dead roots once and was hooked. I didn't see any or many tour dates in the states for quite awhile. I kept waiting. After a few years out of the blue I got an Underground Arts email. Elder Live at UA 2020. But a bad rumor was spreading that year and the show got scratched. Then, in '22 at long last, Behold The Elder! And they were Absolutely Fantastic! Captivating the whole damn show! So I was glad I had tix for the following night as well. If they are around, i'm going.

Seeing then live feels like a time capsule to a different time. The energy was amazing, such a ride! 10/10! Irist and Pallbearer are the perfect accompaniment.

Elder and Belzebong ripped! The venue was weird. The sound was super harsh and not very dynamic. But that wasn’t the bands’ fault. I will always see these bands whenever they come to town.

Really great show. It was Sold Out and for a reason. It was really good music.

They put on a hell of a show. Parts of it, like their catalog, was crushing, while parts were almost jam-like bliss. Opening acts were also good and fit the theme - psych and metal.

The pub was small, but I loved it. Plenty of options at the bar. It was HOT, though. Coyld have something to do with the fact that the show was sold out and there were so many bodies in this small-ish space... but it wasn't overcrowded or uncomfortable when it comes to how many people were there. Just hot. lol. Elder was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to see them again.

Elder delivered on EVERY SINGLE level of expectation I had. You would get so lost in their amazing set and thundering sound and they played so well in time with each other, it was like an exact replica from the studio albums. 1st time seeing them, and goddamn they were amazing. Awesome setlist too!! Great openers as well, as Dreadnought and Ruby the Hatchet delivered their sound perfectly and were fantastic. Awesome experience and really cool venue!

Elder delivers once again! 1st time I saw them was two days ago from this concert. BOTH times they delivered their unique, heavy, and entrancing sound. The crowd energy was unbelievable, and though they were focused on all of their instruments, they still gave their monumental sound and energy to the crowd. One of the best concerts I have been to, and all the guys in the band are just super chill down to earth dudes who really try to connect with their fans on a personal level. ELDER FOR LIFE

The sound was incredible in this intimate venue. Elder played a good mix of songs from most of their albums and had good energy, which is impressive for a mostly instrumental band. The opening acts were super awesome. I’m a new fan of Holy Grove. Excited to follow them locally!

Elder is one of the best studio to live bands I've heard in a long while .....and they're nice dudes.
