About Lost in the middle

"Lost in the Middle — Alt-rock band Lost in the Middle certainly is in the middle, all right, splitting the difference between Tool’s hyperaware hard rock and Staind’s knuckle-dragging alt-rock. But lost? It seems the band’s right where it wants to be. Tonight, the band releases the acoustic disc Hope and Calamity." - Patrick Wall, Free Times (Oct 24, 2012) "Richard Strater's vocals are some of the most impressive in alternative on reverb, the vibrato is noticeable but not overbearing and the notes carry into each other very well. The bass is higher than in most bands and gives a unique feel to the songs; playing excellently with the rhythm guitar and drawing focus to the quake of the vocals." -Out of Tune Reviews. "Lost in the Middle, a D-I-Y rock band from South Carolina, are looking to gain some more exposure and some industry support. To me, they sound like a mixture of Staind and Tool. Say what you want about Staind, but Staind are a really good band (if you don’t believe me, listen to their self-titled record) and Tool are obviously Tool. But being compared to Tool is high praise, so is it really worth it to say that about this band? A little bit. The vocals are undeniably like Aaron’s of Staind and the music is fairly progressive. There’s heavy bits and slow bits within the songs and there’s definitely a lot going on within a short time frame."-Luke Helker " Hear Me Out" on Wordpress.com ***************************************************************** So Far, Lost in the Middle has played two shows live on 90.5 FM WUSC, three public performances on WACH FOX 57 Columbia, one public performance on WBIR Channel 10 Knoxville, eleven shows at New Brookland Tavern in West Columbia,SC, three shows at Camden Bowl in Camden,SC, two shows at the 5 Points Pub in Columbia,SC two shows at Conundrum Music Hall in West Columbia,SC, seven shows at The Sound Hole in Myrtle Bach, one show at The Village Tavern in Charleston,SC, one show at O'Shannon's in Bishopville,SC, two shows at Busters Bar and Grill in Fayetteville,NC,four shows at Pizza Lane in Sumter,SC, one show at Patchwerk Playhaus in Charlotte,NC, one show at Long Branch Saloon in Knoxville,TN, one show at Kate's Irish Pub in Springfield,VA, one show at Le Grand Fromage in Atlantic City,NJ, one show at The Local 269 in Manhattan,NY, two shows at Palmetto Coffee Shoppe & Tea Room in Camden,SC, one show at Leftfield bar in Manhattan,NY, one show at Zakk's Coffeehouse in Murfreesboro,NC, three shows at The Ultimate Basement in Spindale,NC, two shows at The Oasis Bar and Grill in Charleston,SC, one show at Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse in Tampa,FL, one show at Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville,FL, one show at Rockafellas in Summerville,SC, one show at The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden,SC, one show at The Gathering Spot in Greenville,SC, one show at The Rock Shop in Fayetteville,NC, one festival in 5 points Myrtle Beach, one show at The Handlebar in Greenville,SC, one show at The First Round Sports Bar & Lounge in Augusta,GA, one show at Brewster's Pit in Jacksonville,FL, one show at East Main Coffee in Ninety-Six,SC, one show at The Birdhouse in Knoxville,TN, one show at The Sand Shack in Charleston,NC, one show at The House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach,SC, on show at The Town Pump Tavern in Black Mountain,NC, one show at Dilworth Coffee in Concord,NC, on festival at The Town Green in Camden,SC, and one show at the DogHouse in Lexington,SC.
