In The North Wood

Formed during 2011, Nottingham band In The North Wood began writing melodic folk rock. The band gained early praise within the Nottingham scene, notably from Nusic [an established Nottingham music organisation]. They described the band as ‘a plethora of stringed instruments backed by powerful lyrics.’ 2012 saw In The North Wood release their debut EP Southern Ground, with the opening song reaching number 6 in the Top Unsigned Charts for March. With soaring melodies and rousing multi voices, they went on to win a place in the final of the prestigious ‘Future Sound of Nottingham’ competition (the biggest local music competition in the UK) at Nottingham Rock City. 2013 has already seen ITNW support a series of established bands including London band 'The Melodic' and 'Roses Pawn Shop' from California.
