Old Castles Massacre is the first ever Sri Lankan Brutal Death Metal Band....A never ending thirst for blood, a morbid fascination with death, gore and mutilation brought Shalinda Perera and Chathuranga (Ranga) Hewabandula together to form Old Castles Massacre in the latter half of 2002, The band was heavily influenced by the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation,Decrepit birth,Devourment. Defeated sanity, Nile, Six Feet under, Disgorge(US) and Carcass. Old Castles Massacre comprised of Shalinda's growls, Chathuanga's thunderous blast beats, Ranga's guitaring and venomous bass lines by Ravindu. The bands debut gig was at "Silent Scream 2005" which was organized by the Kandy rock merger and Old Castles Massacre shared the stage with the likes of Siblings Of Hatred, Forlorn Hope and Wolfpack..The band played several gigs in Kandy, Colombo, Gampaha and Nittambuwa and also took part in "Silent Scream 2006" with Forlorn Hope,Spleen siant and Fallen Grace.Guitarist Ranga perera joined the band in 2009 and Bassist Kashyapa Gaveen in 2011 Lyrical themes.........
