Midnight Oil

Third Oils gig this year for me and this was the best so far. Although Wednesday night might top it, and the final at the Horden in Sydney hopefully ices the cake. Was a great set list on this night and a rousing call for an encore was rewarded. Oiiiiiiiaaaaaalllzzzzz.

They still shred with more energy than a lot of people half their age.

All MO gigs are great, highlights of this one were, Goanna as support, after 30 odd years they reformed and played what was for them a very emotional set. Rose and Marcia still both in fine voice, what a treat it was. MO ripped thru a thoughtful set (for the times). New songs on RESIST are gentler versions riff wise of a lot of older great songs, riffs. …. Ageing well. Pissed down rain which made it all the better, I was about 3 deep from the stage, about in line with the tank. I only fell over once, but I had to do redneck wonderland on one knee as my legs where shot. I did however recover and finished upright. Caught the bus home and entertained a few fellow travellers. All in all just another enjoyable night out for a 59yo rock fan 🤘

35 years after I first saw them & the boys still have it!!! Reminded me of Goat Island.

The tightest band I’ve ever heard, a lot of new bands could learn a lot from these guys :) Absolutely stunning gig.

The Oils are always a fab gig. First saw them in Christchurch, New Zealand in about 1982 as a kid. Pete still looks the same 😊

Totally awesome. They perform live a lot better than I expected. Every single song was performed with great attention to detail. Maybe the best concert of my life. Oils fan here, by the way.

Good to see the guys again. They haven't slowed down a bit. The band was as tight as they were 15 years ago. With all of the senseless throw away music out there it's nice to an intelligent band that has a meaningful message.

Fantastic night in the fields around Hanging Rock. Great seats and the whole crowd on their feet! Bloody cold night so the ‘dancing’ was awesome.

AWSOME , amazing, hot and sweaty . The band were as tight and fantastic together as they were when I first saw them in 1989. Loved every minute !!!

Keeping in mind I am a HUGE Oils head, this show was off the hook magnificent. The sound, was incredible. The venue was perfect and the band was magical. They played songs I never expected to hear and played them with vitality and energy. One of the best shows I've seen in 20 years.

I am so bummed out that I was not smart enough to get tickets to see Midnight Oil!!

They were tight and rocked the house. It's like they never stopped touring and playing since the 90's. All is can say was "Wow"!
