Amin PaYnE

Since moving from Auckland to Melbourne in 2009, Amin Payne has quickly built a serious reputation as both prolific beat maker and exciting live performer. With his influences deeply rooted in both the smooth, sample based hip-hop of the 90's and the synth based future funk / disco sound of the 80s, he has developed a sound that is at once familiar, yet distinctly modern. Amin was part of the RedBull BeatSuite which took place in May 2012 and it included a 15 piece orchestra, Aloe Blacc, 2 Turntablists & 2 Beat makers has recently joined The Operatives collective, as well as being co-founder of Condensed Milk, putting on parties around Melbourne and releasing several well received compilations of local & International talent. Known as much for his live performances as his production work, Amin incorporates the use of turntables, drum machines and live instrumentation in an exciting free form mix. 2012 saw the release of Amin's debut solo album Cosmic Disfunktions on French label Cascade records, further bolstering his reputation as one to watch in the coming years. Amin has shared stages with Aloe Blacc, Ladi6, Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, Peanut Butter Wolf, Eric Lau, Hudson Mohawk, Oddisee, Suff Daddy, Ras G, Melo-X, Julien Dyne, Hiatus Kaiyote ,@ Peace, and Katchafire.
