About The Prime Movers

1. The Prime Movers were a Medway Towns (Kent, UK) band activein the late '80s/early '90s

2. These Prime Movers are a three piece band from the greater Los Angeles area.
Note: there was another band from Detroit by the same name that featured a young Iggy Pop on drums
and yet another band from the Boston area by the same name. During the mid 80's The Prime Movers broke out in a big way after releasing the critically acclaimed LP "Museum" on their own Birdcage Records.

The Prime Movers signed to Island Records and had two singles, ON THE TRAIL and DARK WESTERN NIGHT enter the UK charts. The band received coveted support slots on the BIG COUNTRY UK tour and The THOMAS DOLBY Aliens Ate My Buick US tour and received massive airplay on The BBC in the UK.

Band Members: Severs (Joe) Ramsey, Bass Guitar and Vocals, Gary Putman Guitar and vocals and Curt Lichter on drums. Lead Vocalist Gregory Markell was added to the band prior to the release of their self-titled EP,
The Prime Movers. They later went back to a three piece band sighting "chemistry issues".

Little known trivia: The Prime Movers disbanded in the late 80's only to reform as Dread Zeppelin

Update: The Prime Movers are currently in the studio and getting ready to release a new record.
