About Kamikaze Hotshot

Kamikaze Hotshot are a Lincolnshire based Rock band in the vein of Turbonegro, The Wildhearts, Ramones, Bowling for Soup & Steel Panther, the band formed in mid 2008 and have been touring ever since! In 2013 Kamikaze Hotshot released their debut thirteen track album 'Zero' which is available on ITunes, Spotify, Amazon mp3 and many more digital outlets. At a venue near you soon!!!! "The next to take a shot at the title for band of the month, KAMIKAZE HOTSHOT, an energetic and sharp band from Spalding with a heavy sound that echoes their influences of bands such as Wildhearts, the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Motley Crué and many others. Usually, I’m not that into heavier bands, although I can appreciate them. Kamikaze Hotshot however are very different. With powerful guitar solos, a huge stage presence and songs that remind this reviewer of fellow local band The Ruined, these guys are a band that you should definitely go and see if you have the chance. Showcasing a new song that showed their vocalist at his best, the band took the crowd and showed them the best time they could give them." J.D's City Sound. Hailing from nearby Spalding, punk n rollers Kamikaze Hotshot have been around for a few years now but have only fairly recently found a stable line up with the quality in all departments to really do justice to their songs. Brothers Steve (drums) and Jim (bass) have always been the nucleus around which the band is built, now with the exceptional Scott on guitar and the flamboyant Benji at the mic they have the platform to really take things to a new level. Tonight home penned tracks like ‘Have / Want / Need’ and ‘Sold Down The River’ sit more than comfortably alongside covers of Turbonegro’s ‘All My Friends’ and a rocked up ‘Tainted Love’. Better is yet to come with catchy punk anthem ‘Suicide Date Party’ leading a host of original tunes good enough to grace any stage. All this with the ever genial Benji working hard to make sure the crowd get involved even if they’re here to see the headliners he makes sure the support aren’t forgotten. There are a few issues; a little of the bass is lost and people seem to want to not stand right up to the stage which seems common at smaller gigs these days, none of which dulls the enjoyment though, and tonight the support have more than done enough; they’ve excelled. Ever popular ‘Bondage Baby’, the storming ‘Wait’ and subtle ‘Incandescent’ round things off to well deserved cheers and applause. Gary Trueman, Getyourockout.co.uk Kamikaze Hotshot, who kick the day into action in the finest Wildhearts, Backyard Babies, Johnny Thunders fashion. Full on punk rock ‘n’ roll from New York, Lincolnshire (actually although such a place actually exists just outside Boston UK they were in fact from Spalding). Bandanas, big riffs, hair and an audience. Yes it was about 1pm and people were going ape, wonderful, no trendy come lately’s at this venue. It’s often hard to be first on but these boys stomped it and stormed it, chucked a few unusual covers, (All My Friends Are Dead, 99 Red Balloons and Blitzkrieg Bop, sweet as) in and left the audience wanting more. Sorry no time-NEXT. Gary Eagling, Oct 20th 2012
