Foreign Talks

Foreign Talks are an American Indie rock band from Vancouver, WA (just north of Portland, OR). The band is composed of brothers Madison Fischer (lead vocals, percussion) and Marcus Fischer (lead vocals, guitar, bass), Tanner Steinmetz (guitar, bass, backing vocals), and Kevin Downes (guitar, backing vocals, percussion.) Formed in 2011, the members met in high school and began jamming at a local music store. They wrote their first song within minutes of playing together and the music never stopped pouring out of them. They signed with independent Portland, OR label Expunged Records in (month) of 2012 and recorded their first self-titled album with them. They are known for their surprisingly mature musical style, youthfully energetic live performances, jazz and folk influenced guitar riffs, fast-paced lyricism and hooky four part harmonies. Being only 16 years of age, Madison Fischer captivates audiences with his unique and powerful, angel-like vocals; a complimenting contrast with his older brother’s speedy hip-hop influenced lyricism and deep vocal abilities reminiscent of swing era artists of the 40’s and 50’s.
