Lady Overdrive

Lady Overdrive is new alter ego of artist and musician Una Jongenelis, developed as part of Cinetol Amsterdam’s VERVERS residency. Lady Overdrive sings about her grandmother’s demons from the past and her own monsters in the present.

On debut single “I am Bird”, she sings about a menacing, wingless bird perched on a branch. It soars high through the sky, keeping a close watch on everything below.

Una Jongenelis is a musician, visual artist and filmmaker. Besides Lady Overdrive, she founded the post-punk band My Purse and plays in bands such as Fellatio and Yodel Queen. Her 10-minute animated film about a panic attack, Thunderhead, had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
