Formed in 2007, (Waning) began life as a dark ambient duo consisting of Susan Hunt and Jim Willig. After several CDr releases, the pair expanded their membership and began to incorporate elements of doom metal, psychedelic rock, and shoegaze. The current lineup is rounded out by a rhythm section featuring Benjamin Carpineta and Ian Black. In 2014, the band released their first concept album "The Funeral Mountains" on Buriedinhell Records. The storyline takes inspiration from both California history and the classic tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Mainstays of the Sacramento music scene, (Waning)'s sonic variance has afforded them the opportunity to play with a diverse array of acts in venues across California and the Pacific Northwest.
