About No Vak

No Vak
Born on a pig farm in deep rural South Carolina, and then carrying on the red neck life in the Florida swamps through my teen years.
I ran off at age 17 to rural New York believing it was NYC for a woman I barely knew. That part of my life ran its course and got the hell out for some pin-up queen that took an interest in me living in Joshua Tree, California.
I never stopped playing, but stopped recording. Until my GenX ass figured out that it was pretty damn easy to record and release these days.
Most of my songs were written from 1994 - 2003, with many exceptions. I tried to re-create these songs as best as I could from my aging memory, as the original records have been long since lost.
The band back then:
Norman Vak (Vocals & Guitar)
Anson Lassitter (Guitar) [RIP]
Jason Gale (Bass)
Nathan Greene (Drums) [RIP]
Songs that I wrote while enduring a frustrating and sometimes consequential teenage angst spree. Lots of terrible choices, even more terrible women. With some new songs about the same trouble I had 25-30 years ago.
Heavily influenced by Mr. Bungle, The Boredoms, Melvins, Melt Banana, The Connie Dungs, Atom & His Package and Ween.
