Shoestring Trio

Shoestring Trio: This is a trio of sidemen; three musicians who were working together "for-hire" until one day they realized there was a much deeper connection at play. Part of being a good sideman is knowing how to accompany your fellow musician, how to really listen and bring out the tiniest nuances of a song. This unteachable sensitivity is hard to come by, and it is the magical quality that led to the creation of the Shoestring Trio. The group is Robby Marshall (Tenor Saxophone, Clairinet, Flute, Cajón), Antoine Salem (Acoustic and Nylon String Guitar), and Michael Papillo (Double Bass). All have earned their rightful place in the music scene by performing with acts ranging from Michael Bublé to Pink Martini and Parliament Funkadelic. Their music is about having fun, evoking spontaneity, and playing repertoire that will speak to lovers of instrumental music and it's rich history.
