Giuseppe Cucchiara

Italian-born, NYC-based upright bassist and composer Giuseppe Cucchiara began touring as a teenager with acclaimed drummer Stefano Bagnoli's "We Kids" Trio, recording four albums before earning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he studied with Danilo Pérez, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, and Terence Blanchard. Since moving to New York, he has been mentored for several years by jazz legend Ron Carter and has performed with artists including Kenny Barron, Johnny O'Neal, Kevin Hays, and Harry Allen. His debut album as a leader, "Cookin' Hot," earned him a place in Feltrinelli's Italian Jazz Dictionary. He has appeared at venues and festivals worldwide, including Dizzy's Club, Smalls, Mezzrow, the Jazz Gallery, and Umbria Jazz Festival.
