About Robin Avery

Robin Avery
Robin Avery is a singer-songwriter whose music is born from stillness, reflection, and lived experience. Many of her songs arrive in the quiet hours of morning, as if carried forward from dreams, shaped by a life deeply attuned to emotion, healing, and human connection.
Though she always felt called to music, Robin first pursued academia, earning a Ph.D. in psychology and building a life centered around family and understanding the human spirit. It wasn’t until age 39, after the birth of her youngest child, that she made the decision to fully honor her creative voice, stepping into songwriting, vocal study, and recording with a sense of purpose and courage.
In 1999, she released her debut album Aurora, marking the beginning of her musical journey. Soon after, a chance introduction brought her together with collaborator Paul Banman, with whom she would form a lasting creative partnership. Together, they wrote and released The Way You Hold Me, earning national radio play, Top 40 recognition in Radio & Records, and critical acclaim for tracks like “Lovetrust” and “Finally Free.” Their music has since been featured alongside renowned artists on industry compilations, including HITDISC.
Robin and Paul continue to create and perform together, their collaboration grounded in authenticity, trust, and shared artistic vision. Recent releases include the 2026 remaster Light the Way and the single “Old Friends,” which has connected with listeners and steadily grown its audience. New music, including the upcoming release My Blue Heart, continues to expand her catalog with the same emotional depth and sincerity that defines her work.
Now based in the mountains of North Carolina, Robin draws inspiration from the quiet beauty of sunrise, daily meditation, and a deep spiritual connection to nature. Her songwriting reflects a lifelong exploration of love, loss, resilience, and hope. To know her lyrics is to know her story.
Through every song, Robin Avery invites listeners into a space of reflection, connection, and the enduring belief that, even in complexity, there is always a path back to love.
