Alister Spence is an improvising pianist/composer living on unceded Gadigal land, Newtown, Sydney. With an extensive national and international reputation, Spence has received: the ARIA Award (1990, 1993, nominated 2004, 2007), APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award (2014, nominated 2016). His work hybridises a wide range of musical styles with a focus on sonic content and effect. Current projects include Alister Spence Solo (solo fender rhodes project, and solo piano), Alister Spence Trio, Kira Kira featuring Satoko Fujii, Alister Spence & Tony Buck duo, and Asteroid Ekosystem featuring Ed Kuepper.
