Kaláka

The Kaláka ensemble presents poetry to listeners on an elegant musical platter that cannot be mistaken for that of any other musicians. They do not impose their own compositions upon the poems; rather, they musically draw out what they perceive as the poems’ “original melody” from verses that, since Gutenberg, have been exiled into books—born and condemned to a “silence of the heart.”
