About Atte Nordberg

Atte Nordberg
Combining his soul- and late 60’s pop influences in a theatrical take on modern indie rock,
singer-songwriter Atte Nordberg is a promising new firestarter from the Finnish indie scene.
Similarly to eccentric artists such as Rufus Wainwright, McCartney, Bowie, Sufjan
Stevens and God, Atte values the significance and novelty of every song as its own entity.
He expresses it through contrastful ideas, unusual themes and a groovy abundance of
melodic elements.
Fueled by his passion for the art of showmanship, he injects live performances with delicate
interpretation, as well as frantic frontman maneuvers. Known to enjoy keeping the audience
on their feet with a constant element of surprise, he’s been well received in various circles of
Helsinki’s underground music scene.
Being the lead singer in powerhouse indie/garage rock band The Halophones, industrial art
rock collective Faceted Poetems and some cult groups from the late 2010’s, Nordberg has
shown versatility as an artist, composer, lyricist, entertainer and a singer.
Due to his fascination with various strange visual content projects, throughout his fresh
career he’s been spotted in multiple unusual situations and contexts.
He released his debut single and self-directed music video Make it Pop to experiment with
electronic elements, after which he’s uncovered his signature sound, crystallizing an early
70’s-inspired style of mellotron strings, piano, acoustic drums, punchy backing vocals, bass,
acoustic guitar, organs and some wild cards.
Dedicated to the vision of creating emotionally colorful soundscapes, connecting audiences
to unfamiliar feelings, and enthralling the crowd with a wide array of stage gimmicks, he’s an
upcoming revelation to discover in the overflow of new music today.
