From Which They Thrive

From Which They Thrive is an alternative rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The name itself is open-ended by design — “they” can be the band, the listeners, or any artist who finds a sense of belonging and growth within the music.

The group was founded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Christian West and guitarist Caleb Loehrs, who met while attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Christian, who first explored music through rap and alternative hip-hop, found common ground with Caleb’s deep-rooted love for hard rock and metal. What began as an experiment between two friends evolved into a full band when Christian connected with bassist Eli Fillman—a friendship first sparked through graffiti writing—and later drummer Stevan Jameson, whom he met during physical therapy sessions.

Musically, From Which They Thrive draws influence from grunge, nu-metal, punk, post-grunge, shoegaze, and hardcore, shaping a sound that is heavy yet melodic, raw yet thoughtful. While their songs are rooted in personal and collective experiences, the band avoids prescribing meaning. Instead, they aim for listeners to interpret the music through their own lens—finding their own sense of freedom, validation, and importance within it.
